About Me

I am a white, queer, cisgender therapist based in New York City, providing individual and relationship therapy I see clients in-person in Brooklyn or virtually across New York State.

Whether you’re seeking to build coping skills for increased emotional balance, improve communication in your close personal relationships, or untangle deep-seated patterns that are holding you back — I can help.

My Approach

I take an eclectic approach, meaning I draw from a number of different theories and techniques in order to meet your unique needs. My work is most informed by family systems, relational theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and narrative therapies, all of which allow me to see the individual in the context of a complex whole. I am guided by my faith in the capacities of all people to grow and change, and by my firm conviction that relationships are the key to healing.

My style is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I will not tell you what to do or how to do it; I will listen closely, help you see yourself and your life more clearly, and support you in making the changes you want to make. I strive for cultural humility, hold a deep commitment to lifelong learning, and will always center your self-determination in the work that we do together.

My Services

  • Therapy for Adolescents

Adolescence (typically considered to be the time between the ages of 12-24) is a period of particularly intense growth and change, and presents unique challenges and opportunities for young people and their caregivers. I have extensive experience supporting teens and emerging adults in navigating this life stage, and – for clients under 18 – consulting with and supporting the adults who care for them.

  • Individual Therapy

In one-on-one therapy, I will help you to clarify your goals, identify what might be getting in your way, and find a path forward. The relationship between therapist and client is the greatest predictor of positive outcomes, so I will invest time in gaining your trust and building rapport in order for you to feel as comfortable and safe as possible.

  • Family & Relationship Therapy

My view of family is expansive. Your family might consist of your birth parents and siblings, or your spouse and children, and/or it may be a network of non-biologically related loved ones with whom you share important bonds. I welcome any configuration of people who wish to make changes in the ways that they communicate and relate. When I work with a family, the entire family is my client; it is my role to support all of its members in growing and healing together as a family system. This is also true in my work with couples and those in multi-partner or polyamorous relationships.
